use it will be revoked.
To improve readability for players using screenreaders, do not spell out
words single‑spaced or any other way than the word is intended to be
spelled. Illegal word examples are things like spelling 'dragon' as
'd r a g o n' or 'dr ag on' and so on.
Overview
The restring command is used to change the appearance of an item's short
and long description as well as its keywords. To restring an item's short
description, the cost is 10000 gold if the item was crafted or created with
the transform spell, otherwise a restring token is required. Restringing an
item's name and long description is free of cost. An item's keywords and
short description can be no longer than 30 characters, whereas a long
description can be up to 100. There is a maximum of 6 keywords total that
an item can have. Please note that the string cannot include tildes.
Certain items, like currency bundles and items created with the transform
spell can be restrung for free.
Adding a keyword with a description costs 2 restring tokens and removes any
default descriptions the item has. It's free to remove custom keyword
descriptions. The cost is heftier as this feature is meant to be used
sparingly due to the amount of text that is saved that can be used.
Changing an item's short description
This is what you see when you look in your inventory, ie 'a blue orb'.
To restring 'a blue orb' to look like 'a ball of fire', the syntax is:
restring orb short a ball of fire
Changing an item's name
A name is the keyword(s) you use to interact with an object, such as 'orb'
for an item that looks like 'a blue orb'.
restring orb name ball fire
Now the blue orb has the keywords 'ball' and 'fire'.
Changing an item's long description
This is what you see when the item is on the ground. For example, 'A blue
orb lies here.'

Adding a keyword with a description
When you type 'look <keyword>' you will see the description. In this example
we are adding keyword 'green' to a hat and giving the keyword 'green'
a description you would see when you 'look green'.
restring hat description add green This is a small green hat.
If you want multiple keywords to refer to the same description, put
the keywords in single quotes when you add it to the item.
To remove that keyword, the command would be:
restring hat description remove green
